Lyndi Shaw

Yogi, Adventure Lover

We are lucky to have local Revelstoke Yogi Lyndi to leading the Sol Mountain yoga sessions!

Lyndi grew up in Banff, Alberta with ample outdoor and adventure time throughout her childhood. Whether it’s hiking, biking or skiing, the outdoors is where she can be found. She feels most grounded in a small, active and vibrant mountain community, which is why Revelstoke became her home in 2013. Lyndi has a variety of jobs in town, including yoga teacher and Studio Manager at Balu Yoga & Wellness as well as a server at one of Revelstoke's best post adventure watering holes, the Big Eddy Pub. She loves the variety and opportunities she has to get to know so many people in the community. On any given day, you will find Lyndi either hanging with her dogs, biking, snowboarding, spending time with her friends or adventuring with her camper. (Or a mixture of ALL of the things).

Yoga has always been present in Lyndi’s life. Her mom has actively practiced for as long as she can remember and this paved a path for Lyndi to venture on her own yoga journey when she was ready to do so. Yoga became a part of her daily life in 2008 after moving to Victoria, BC to attend university. It became a consistent and important part of learning to juggle school and city life while finding focus and a calm environment on her mat.

Having explored a variety of classes, studios and teachers she is always drawn back to continuous movement linked with breath, a love she has found most prevalent in Vinyasa Flow classes. Lyndi completed her 200 YTT in cottage country Ontario in June 2015 with Julia McCabe, a women who builds her practice around a strong foundation, great music and getting comfortable with the uncomfortable. Since then she has done a variety of other courses to continue to grow her knowledge and understanding of the practice and how to share it in nourishing ways with others.
