SUMMARY:Peru Andes Adventure - Women's only
DESCRIPTION:Unforgettable Andes: A Bucket-List Experience\nA once-in-a-lifetime trip to Peru is being offered by Sweet Skills in collaboration with Big Mountain Bike Adventures. This 8-day adventure includes 7 days of guided mountain biking and 1 unforgettable day at Machu Picchu. \nIncredible singletrack rides will be experienced—flowing from high alpine peaks down to lush valleys\, passing through Incan ruins\, traditional villages\, and ancient trails. Throughout the journey\, the vibrant culture\, stunning views\, and warm hospitality of the Peruvian people will be fully embraced. \nTwo Unique Riding Zones\nThe trip will explore two distinct regions: \n\n\nCusco – A high-altitude Andean city steeped in culture and history \n\n\nThe Sacred Valley – A lush and peaceful retreat nestled between dramatic peaks \n\n\nA private lodge in the Sacred Valley will be used as a home base for several days. Complete with a private chef\, beautiful gardens\, hammocks\, and an outdoor dining area\, it provides the perfect place to rest and recover after epic days on the bike. \nA Taste of Peru\nDid you know that Peru ranks in the top 10 countries worldwide for cuisine? Delicious\, locally-prepared meals will be enjoyed throughout the week—including one very special experience where a traditional homemade lunch will be served by a local family in their home. \nAlong the way\, moments to remember will include: \n\nRiding next to alpacas at 4\,300 meters\nExploring ancient ruins mid-ride\nMeeting local women selling handmade crafts in the hills\nDescending through eucalyptus forests and ancient stone staircases\nSoaking in panoramic views and immersive cultural encounters\n\nWhat’s Included\n\nSweet Skills coaching + expert local guides (English & Spanish speaking)\n1 nights hotel accommodation in Cusco\n7 nights at a private Sacred Valley lodge with private chef\nMachu Picchu Day Trip: return shuttle to train station from lodge\, return scenic train\, return bus transfer to start of Machu Picchu\, private guided tour of site (1.5hrs)\, lunch at renowned restaurant.\n8 breakfasts\, 8 lunches\, and 7 dinners\nSnacks and filtered water in support vehicle\nPrivate airport transfers to/from Cusco (on scheduled days)\nAll private transportation and daily shuttle support\nPre-departure information and trip extension assistance\nSwag from Big Mountain and Sweet Skills\n\n\nThe Riding Experience\nEach day begins with a shuttle up into the Andes\, followed by 1-3 thrilling descents through ever-changing terrain. \nIf you’re not a fan of shuttles… you will be here! The elevation is between 3500-4500m and it’s quite hard to put in any effort to say the least. Some days will still have some minor uphill components. \nThe terrain vary from technical and rocky to flowy and smooth\, sometimes on ancient inca trails with stairs to ride and through pasture lands and eucalyptus forests in the valley. Many of the trails were old walking paths linking villages so they are quite ‘raw’\, not mountain bike specific and in this way they can be a bit more challenging than manicured North American trails. The terrain is ever-changing as we descend through different climate zones. \nThe trails in Peru are not purpose-built for mountain biking\, which creates a raw and authentic riding experience that can be more demanding than manicured North American trails. \nSkill & Fitness Level\n\nSkill Level: Intermediate-Advanced to Advanced (IA–A) Fitness Level: 4–6 \nThis camp is well-suited for strong intermediate to advanced riders who love descending technical terrain and have experience riding black diamond trails (BC-rated). Are confident with exposure\, stairs\, off-camber sections\, and rocky lines. Can ride long\, technical downhills for several consecutive days. \nIn total\, more than 12\,000 meters of descending will be completed over the course of the trip. Riders should be in strong riding shape and mentally prepared for varied terrain and long days in the saddle. \nNot sure if this is the right fit?Contact Sylvie at 604-966-8330 to discuss your skill and fitness level. \nPrice\n$3\,695 USDA 25% deposit is required to reserve your spot. All payments are handled by Big Mountain Bike Adventures (our official partner). \nMax 12  / 2 guides / 1 Sweet Skills Coach \n*One more spot left! Once we get 3 on waitlist we can open up those spots. \n\n🎥 Video from our 2020 trip
