Sweet Skills is heading North this summer! Kitimat has a brand new skills park and we're coming up to celebrate with a full day of park skills for women, an apres party, and skills day for the kids! 

Join our enthusiastic Level 2 jump coaches Stacey, Meredith, and Ferni to learn and refine your pumping, cornering, dropping, and jumping skills in this fantastic new skills park.

Today is all about learning and understanding the details and process of getting your bike in the air on drops and jumps. But also how to stick it to the ground and increase speed in the pump track and improve your cornering technique. These skills will help your trail riding immensely let alone they are just sooo much fun to practice over and over again!

After a whole lot of pump and jumping, we'll celebrate this awesome Northern BC skills park with an apres BBQ party hosted by Mr. Oviatt himself!

Kitimat Ranges British ColumbiaGear & what to bring: Knee & elbow pads, well fitting helmet (full face suggested but not mandatory), mountain bike or pump track bike in good condition. Bring a lunch and snacks for some breaks during the day along with an apres beverage, clothes and a camp chair to hang out afterwards.

Kids Skills Park Sessions

Sign your kids up to join our enthusiastic Level 2 jump coaches Stacey, Meredith, and Ferni and introduce them to the new Kitimat Oviatt Skills Park. Our goal is to have kids riding safely on all the features and progress their skills whether they are learning to get air for the first time or need some skill refinement. We’ll cover all the skills necessary to have a blast and feel confident in the pump track, table top jumps and in the progressive drop zone.

These park skills with translate into more confident riding on the trails and they are just soo much fun to do over and over again! Take advantage of this opportunity to have your kids learn from some pros on this fantastic new skills park in Northern BC.

AGE and ABILITY:pump

  • 8-14 years old, co-ed
    Your child/youth must be past the beginner stage and able to pedal and coast on level pedals on flowy blue trails as a minimum requirement.
    The group will be split into groups the best we can dependant on ability:
    Level 1: Rollers - brand new or timid jumpers
    Level 2: Shredders – some experience with getting air

Gear & what to bring: elbow and knee pads, well fitting helmet (full face suggested but not mandatory), bike gloves, bike in good condition with mountain bike tires and front suspension as a minimum. Snacks and water are a must!
