BegIntermediate Tech Skills

May 22 @ 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm

$136.50 – $157.50

Take your trail skills to the next level with Sweet Skills’ BegIntermediate mountain bike clinic in Kelowna. This 3-hour session is designed for women who are confident on green and flowy blue trails and looking to increase their confidence on technical features.

Are you stuck in between beginner and intermediate? Let us help you bridge the gap with some more skills to boost that confidence!

The Crawford trails at Myra-Bellevue Park have some great terrain for the BegIntemediate rider to work on their technical skills. We’ll spend time on the lower bench area doing skills drills for body position in different terrain, braking without skidding, rolling through and climbing up technical terrain, and rock rolls.

We’ll help you get set up for a summer of success with some nice new habits!  Trail choices are all weather, time and group dependant and could included trails such as Springs Bypass, Heckyl or Jeckyl.

  • More Details

    MEET UP LOCATION:

Meet up spot for day 1 will be at the main Smith Creek trails parking lot just inside the gate at the bottom of the trails. For Day 2 at Crawford, we’ll meet at the picnic table at the entrance to the trails just above the parking lots at the trailhead. Exact location and reminder details on what to bring will be sent out at least 1 week in advance by email.

    GROUPS:

Participants will be grouped together by their ability level in cases where we are more than 1 coach.  The questionnaire that you fill out during registration will guide us on where to place you. Please sign up for the appropriate clinic for your ability and don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions. We do our best to match similar levels together, but given the nature of the sport there will always be some differences in ability and fitness levels within every group.  These differences can offer a great opportunity to peer learn – the most advanced rider can always benefit from ‘slowing down and getting back to basics’ and a less experienced rider can progress from riding with more advanced riders in a supportive environment.

    GEAR NEEDED:

Bike: All-mountain or XC bike in good working order.  Protective Gear/Attire: The following is mandatory for this clinic; helmet, knee pads, and full finger gloves.  Elbow pads, and other protective gear not listed above are optional.  We highly recommend dressing in appropriate bike clothes for the weather that day, and packing/wearing extra layers just in case – we ride rain or shine! Participants must also also have a multi-tool to repair anything on their bike as well as tube, tire levers and pump.  *Please ride in shoes/compatible pedals that you normally ride in – this is not the time to be learning a new system. For example learning to ride clipped in or vice versa.

    SNACKS & WATER

Please bring snacks and enough water to sustain you through this 3 hour session.

    WAIVERS:

Each guest will be required to sign a Release of Liability, Waiver of Claims, Assumption of Risks and Indemnity Agreement at time of registration, prior to start of trip. Click here to view and fill in the online waiver at time of booking.  Participants are required to inform Sweet Skills of any allergies, medical conditions or injuries that might affect their riding or health and any medications taken.

    AGE:

Minimum required age is 18 for our camps and clinics.
