Intermediate Progression Series #1 – Whistler

Intermediate Progression Series #1 – Whistler

April 30 @ 5:00 pm - May 21 @ 8:00 pm

$367.50

Need a boost of confidence to your riding? Keep your wheels turning and your stoke high as you pedal and practice weekly with our Sweet Skills all female coaching team!  Learn tons of new skills on the trail that will help you get to the next level of riding. Meet new riding buddies and have tons of laughs and cheers in the forest. These progression series are the best!

Get over some hurdles you may have with your riding such as switchback corners, wheel lifts, steeper descents, picking lines, staying relaxed, and braking in control. These 3 hour sessions give us plenty of time to review skills, test those skills out on the trails and explore new zones to expand your trail riding network! After the last class of the series come join us at RMU Blackcomb for an après!

This intermediate series is great for a rider who is confident on 90% of the Lost Lake singletrack and is looking to explore more challenging trails outside of Lost Lake (first session will be in Lost Lake to work on rock rolling skills). Trails we’ll venture to may include any of the following: Emerald Forest, Desert Platter, Danimal, Flashback, HiHi, Cut Yer Bars, etc

  • More Details

    MEET UP LOCATION:

Meet up spot and reminder details on what to bring will be sent out at least 1 week in advance by email.

    GROUPS:

Participants will be grouped together by their ability level in cases where we are more than 1 coach.  The questionnaire that you fill out during registration will guide us on where to place you. Please sign up for the appropriate clinic for your ability and don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions. We do our best to match similar levels together, but given the nature of the sport there will always be some differences in ability and fitness levels within every group.  These differences can offer a great opportunity to peer learn – the most advanced rider can always benefit from ‘slowing down and getting back to basics’ and a less experienced rider can progress from riding with more advanced riders in a supportive environment.

    GEAR NEEDED:

Bike: All-mountain or XC bike in good working order.  Protective Gear/Attire: The following is mandatory for this clinic; helmet, knee pads, and full finger gloves.  Elbow pads, and other protective gear not listed above are optional.  We highly recommend dressing in appropriate bike clothes for the weather that day, and packing/wearing extra layers just in case – we ride rain or shine! Participants must also also have a multi-tool to repair anything on their bike as well as tube, tire levers and pump.  *Please ride in shoes/compatible pedals that you normally ride in – this is not the time to be learning a new system. For example learning to ride clipped in or vice versa.

    SNACKS & WATER

Please bring snacks and enough water to sustain you through this 3 hour session.

    WAIVERS:

Each guest will be required to sign a Release of Liability, Waiver of Claims, Assumption of Risks and Indemnity Agreement at time of registration, prior to start of trip. Click here to view and fill in the online waiver at time of booking.  Participants are required to inform Sweet Skills of any allergies, medical conditions or injuries that might affect their riding or health and any medications taken.

    AGE:

Minimum required age is 18 for our camps and clinics. Requests can be made on a case-by-case basis. It’s recommended for youth between the ages of 14 and 18 to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
